World Museum
You won’t believe that you can visit the World Museum for free as there is so much to see here. There are certain exhibitions that you may need to pay for, but you could spend hours enjoying the areas of the museum that are free of charge. You and your children can learn all about cultures from all over the world as well as natural history and prehistoric creatures.
Look out for the full sized cast of a Megalosaurus skeleton, the aquarium full of tropical fish and traditional headdresses from a range of cultures.
Otterspool Adventure
Otterspool Adventure is an exciting place for the kids which features a huge outdoor play area which will keep them entertained for hours. The wooden play equipment is completely free to use and if you want to have access to other areas such as the Volvo diggers, bouncing pillow, mini quad bike race course or the maze, you can buy fairly cheap play passes which can be used between more than one child.
There is an ice cream barn and a café for when you get peckish, and adults can sit and relax while they watch their children play.
Albert Dock
Opened in 1846, Albert Dock has a rich history as an integral part of Liverpool’s heritage. These days, the Dock is home to a huge variety of shops, bars, restaurants, galleries and museums.
Learn about the Titanic at Merseyside Maritime Museum or be inspired by the art at Tate Liverpool.
Rice Lane City Farm
Rice Lane City Farm is known as Liverpool’s best kept secret with 14 acres of woodland, as well as farming land, right in the heart of the city. This community initiative is designed to provide a place for local people to learn a number of new skills such as animal husbandry and farming skills.
You can visit the farm and meet the various animals onsite, including the Ryeland sheep and Red Poll cows.
Sefton Park
As a 235 acre, Grade 1 historic park, Sefton Park is incredibly popular with locals and visitors alike. There’s everything from a boating lake to a playground, cafés, caves and statues as well as much more. Make sure to visit the Palm House with your dolls pram which is home to plenty of exotic plants and hosts a number of exciting events throughout the year.
